Mark Wahlberg earned Academy Award nominations for his standout work on “The Departed” and “The Fighter.” His breakout role in “Boogie Nights” established him as one of Hollywood’s most sought-after talents. Wahlberg is also a prolific film and television producer of such projects as “Entourage,” “Boardwalk Empire,” “Lone Survivor” and “Father Stu.”
Wahlberg’s HBO docuseries “Wahl Street” chronicles his experiences as an entrepreneur with many diverse business interests. They include Wahlburgers restaurants, Municipal Sport Utility Gear, Performance Inspired Nutrition, Flecha Azul tequila and an unscripted production company, Unrealistic Ideas.
Boston native Wahlberg founded The Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation in 2001 to benefit inner-city children and teens by sending them to summer camp, building video production studios and gyms, and supporting countless organizations through funding and grants. He was inducted into the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Alumni Hall of Fame in 2012 and also received the Bob Hope Award from the Medal of Honor Society for his work to support our military.
